Step 3
Pray
Learn How To Start Talking With God
Learning how to pray may seem intimidating but it’s really nothing more than talking with God. In Luke 15:15, the Bible says that Jesus would take time apart and pray often. Here are the three steps to get you started:
- Find a Quiet Space and Time:
Find a quiet place where you can focus, and set aside a specific time for prayer each day. Though God will ALWAYS hear you, making a consistent time to pray helps you build a habit. - Begin with Gratitude and Surrender:
Start by thanking God for the blessings in your life. Share your struggles and aspirations, trusting that God is listening. It doesn’t have to be long! - Use Scripture as a Guide:
Let the words of the BIble guide and shape your prayers, helping you grow a deeper connection with the God of the Universe.
Feel free to adapt these steps to your personal style, allowing your prayer life to evolve and deepen over time.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Step 4
Find A Church
Finding The Right Church As A New Christian Can Be An Important Step In Your Spiritual Journey
Here are five simple steps to help you in the process:
- Research Local Churches:
Look for churches nearby that share your basic beliefs. - Attend Worship Services:
Check out worship services at different churches to get a feel for what each church is like. - Engage with the Community:
Participating in activities or events will allow you to connect with others and ask questions. - Meet with Church Leaders and Members:
Arrange meetings to learn more. Asking questions about the church can provide valuable insights.
Remember that finding the right church may take time, and it’s okay to explore multiple options before making a decision.
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25
